What Are Ruff Tough Kennels Made Of?

What Are Ruff Tough Kennels Made Of?
FAQ What material are your kennels made of? Our kennels are produced using Polyethylene that is food grade safe and UV stabilized. Sourced in the USA. What is the difference between the D-ring and bracket tie-down kit? Aside from the look of the product they perform the exact same function.

They both have a working load limit of 1000 lbs. What are the kennel dimensions? See respective kennel page for most up-to-date measurements. What kennel cover sizes do you carry? We only carry the brown insulated kennel covers that fit the intermediate, large and xl sizes of kennels, working with all door configurations.

Why do you not recommend kennel sizes? We prefer not to recommend sizes as every breed of dog is different and without having firsthand contact with your dog we are not best equipped to make this important decision for you. This is why we refer you to your breeder, trainer, or vet for the best fit.

  1. What are your approximate shipping/delivery dates? Estimated delivery dates are determined at time of shipping, NOT from the time of placing the order.
  2. So for example, Spee Dee delivery is generally a 1-3 day transit from the time it gets picked up from our facility.
  3. You can use the approximate ship dates once you receive tracking on your order.

Prior to that your order is processing and no ship dates are provided. What are some suggestions for dogs that experience anxiety? While anxiety can manifest itself differently in each case, creating a safe, comfortable space for your pet is important.

Our kennels are a safe escape for pets and provide a natural “nesting” spot for your cat or dog. Our kennels can also be outfitted with additional coverings such as a door cover to limit sight, kennel covers for extra insulation to noise (multiple flaps can be opened for airflow as needed), and we offer customization of vent holes to minimize chew points and keep possible soiling from going through to your car or floor coverings.

Can my accessories ship together? Yes, we will combine all accessories to ship together, however they will not ship inside the kennel. Our packaging and inventory is handled and prepared differently for the kennels vs. the accessories. This also allows for a tracking number to be provided for each package and minimize delays if one item in the order is on backorder.

  • Accessories may not ship on the same day as the Kennels, it could be before or after depending on inventory levels.
  • Please watch for separate tracking.
  • Do you ship direct to Canada? Yes we do! Please call in to our office to discuss shipping options if ordering multiple items.
  • We also have a number of dealers across Canada that you can locate from our “Where to Find” tab on our website.

Can you ship internationally? We can ship to Canada, Mexico, and other limited countries. You can determine if the item can ship direct to you by putting into your cart and if our system returns shipping rates we can ship it to you. Do you have a dealer/distributor in my area? Please click the “Where to Find” tab on our main webpage.

  1. From there you can enter your address or zip code to see where there may be a dealer in your location, you can also navigate directly on the map.
  2. The orange markers are stock dealers that may have product on-hand, the green markers are drop-ship dealers that take orders to ship direct from our location.

Do you offer free shipping? Given that we already cover a portion of the true shipping cost on most of the kennels and some of the accessories, we do not offer free shipping. There are some dealers and retailers that offer free, or reduced, shipping depending on your order.

  • You can usually find these offers by doing a general web search of our products.
  • Do you offer Military/First Responder discounts? We currently do not as we are working on offering deeper discounts directly through the military exchanges and police departments.
  • What is the height of the kennel from the bottom to the widest point? The widest point of the kennel will be halfway up the kennel, so if you take the total height of the respective kennel and divide by two this will give you the the midway point, which is the widest point.

There will obviously be some variations on the side entry kennels due to the added width of the door frame, typically adds 1.5″. How do you determine if the kennel is a right side or left side entry? You can determine this by looking at the kennel from the front, not as from the inside view of the pet.

  • So for example, look directly at the front of the kennel, a right side entry will have the additional door on the right side, as if you were reaching to your right to open it.
  • You have coupler kits to attach the kennels side by side, but how do you attach them vertically? Our kennels can stack vertically on each other with the unique raised portion that allows one kennel to nest on top of a like size kennel.

They can be bolted together with optional hardware for a permanent stacking solution. Do you products contain BPA? No, none of our plastics contain this and are all certified food grade safe. Why are the walls of my kennel caving in slightly? Due to the nature of plastic, and its elasticity, your kennel may take on a slight warping nature depending on the temperature of the surroundings.

It will resume its normal shape on its own or may need some encouragement with a brace propped in it while setting it someplace warm or applying heat. Why is my kennel door rattling? This can happen from time to time depending on the surface of the road, obviously, and as our kennels are all hand finished and there may be slight variations on the door frame.

Felt pads can be added at the point of contact or a side latch rod kit could be added. Please email or call in if you experience anything more than a slight rattling. Can I use two different cc cards to make a purchase? Our online system does not currently accept two forms of payment on the same order.

If this is something you need to do you can call into our office and our customer service staff will help to place and process the order for you. I thought your kennels were indestructible? No kennel is indestructible. Our kennels provide the perfect amount of safety and stability to protect your furry family and in some cases even you (see our testimonials) While other kennel brands claim to be “better”, they tend to be overkill, and what you gain in heavier duty material you lose in flexibility, ease of transport, interior space and clean-ability.

Why do you offer no bottom vent holes as an option? Some customers use our kennels for transporting puppies, or dogs on longer trips, and to keep any urination from going out the kennel into the vehicle, they choose this option. Additionally others use the kennels with bedding material, such as hay, that they want to keep contained.

We have broken it down to help you when choosing the best dog kennel for your canine companion. We’ve stuck to wooden and plastic as these are the most popular types of kennels available in Ireland. Cleaning Plastic dog kennels are well known for being easy to clean making them a popular choice. As they are made of plastic, to clean them all you are required to do is give them a quick wash.

They also don’t harbour any pet smells as wooden kennels do. They require little maintenance because of their easy cleaning aspect making them very economical to keep. Wooden dog kennels tend to absorb odours. They are not as easy to clean and tend to smell because of the absorbent wood unless cleaned properly.

  • They also can’t be washed as easily as the plastic kennels can.
  • However, once cleaned regularly and properly a wooden kennel can be kept just as clean as a plastic one! Care Wood, being a natural product, will degrade with time unless it is cared for correctly.
  • This is why we recommend that any wooden kennel is treated once a year with an animal friendly wood preservative to help it to keep in good condition.

Plastic kennels require much less maintenance. The only thing that happens them is that they can start to lose their colour a bit after a lot of exposure to sunlight. Durability Plastic kennels are more durable and resistant, especially to chewing. This makes them a more suitable choice for a dog who likes to chew as the plastic is less palatable to them.

  1. But, if your dog tends to chew and you wish to get a wooden dog kennel, you need to be sure that you choose one that is treated with a pet safe wood stain to avoid allergic reactions.
  2. As all kennels here at Pets.ie are created with your dogs in mind we have made sure that all our wooden kennels are treated with a dog safe wood stains.

Wood provides good insulation from the heat of summer and the cold of winter meaning that the temperature will be better regulated better. Looks Plastic kennels tend to not be as aesthetically pleasing as wooden ones to some people.

So, people who are looking for something to look pretty in their garden tend to choose to go for a wooden kennel. • Once your pet has enough space to get in comfortably, turn around and lie down, that’s a good fit! Dogs also feel more secure in a smaller space.

Vet bedding can be used to make the kennel even snugger and comfier, and it is really hard to chew. We also offer some kennels with insulation. If you are buying for a puppy, be sure to check what her adult size is likely to be and choose accordingly!

Do dogs prefer plastic or metal crates?

Crates Dogs Like – When choosing a crate, give some thought to what your dog likes. Some dogs prefer a wire crate with no covering so he can see everything going on around him. Others seem to feel like they’re on display and aren’t comfortable. Most dogs like the cave-like feeling naturally offered by a plastic crate or soft-cover crate.

  1. Dogs who need a wire crate due to their Houdini-like abilities can get the same cave feeling by purchasing a crate cover or simply placing a cotton sheet or lightweight blanket or throw over the crate.
  2. Dogs who bark in wire crates are often quieted by the addition of a cover.
  3. Any crate can have safety issues, depending on your dog.

He can get a leg stuck in metal if the crate is not properly put together and sized to the dog; he can chew through wood; and he can pretty easily destroy a soft-sided crate. Remember that a dog’s crate is a safe, temporary haven for him to eat, relax, or remain confined when necessary.

  1. A crate should not be a punishment area or a permanent prison.
  2. All crates need a pad or thick towel on the floor for comfort.
  3. Chew-resistant crate beds are available, if you suspect your dog may be destructive.
  4. A stuffed Kong toy can keep your dog occupied.
  5. If your dog is left in his crate for any length of time, you must provide water as well.

While we believe all dogs should be crate-trained due to the possibility of emergencies, there are dogs that simply won’t relax in a crate. For these dogs, we recommend crate alternatives, as discussed in our article “Creative Confinement: Dog Crate Alternatives.”
